David Brown

Project Manager

David Brown graduated in mechanical engineering from Aston University in 1971 following an apprenticeship at Ruston Bucyrus Excavator Manufacturers of Lincoln. He worked for Coles Cranes and Massey Ferguson, and joined JCB in 1986.

He started the Fastrac tractor Project as Chief Designer/Chief Engineer at Wrexham and took it from a clean sheet of paper to production in Cheadle. Fastrac is the world’s first and only genuine high-speed ploughing tractor. He was awarded an RASE Medal for services to agriculture, and received a Design Council Award.

Recently he has worked as Chief Engineer on several projects in JCB Group Engineering, including remote telemetry and data logging.
